departure and arrival at last!

The next series of posts chronicles our progress from our departure in Toronto to our arrival in Beijing. If the spelling, grammar and syntax of these posts seems a little odd, it's only that I'm writing them from our hotel room in the Tiantan hotel after about 24 hours without any sleep. It's now 7:11 pm on Thursday although the clock on my PC shows 6:15 am Thursday, so I'm really turned around right now. The kids are fast asleep and probably out for the duration. I'm going to post the updates and then crash myself. The next posts are pictures with text explaining everything.
